“To live is to feel oneself lost.” - Jose Ortega Y Gasset
How many times in your life have you felt lost? How did things turn out for you? What turned the corner for you? Did someone help you? We can be lost for a long time, if we try to go it alone. Life can be so much easier if we just ask for help. If we look. If we listen. If we surround ourselves with the right people, the fog will eventually lift. Clarity returns and so does hope.
I have had a few clients call me this past week about tax planning, the markets, the current economic environment, and what to do. They took action. They made the call to someone they trusted that guides them through good times and bad.
As the saying goes, it takes a village to raise as child. As adults, we need to remember to reach out for help too. Asking for help is not a sign of weakness. It is a sign of strength.
”Power is made perfect in weakness.” 2 Corinthians 12:9.
With so many changes we have experienced in the past year, it ok to ask financial questions. If you are between the ages of 55 and 72 years old, you are in the most crucial time of life, when it comes to retirement, tax, and income planning. There are many things to consider:
- Do you have enough money to retire?
- Are you saving in the correct retirement vehicles?
- Will I outlive our money?
- When should I take Social Security?
- How should I coordinate withdrawals during retirement to be the most tax efficient to me and my family?
These are just a few of hundreds of questions to ask, and as times change, the questions change, as well.
You are not alone. I am here for you. Feel free to ask any question. Because it always ok to ask for help.
On the lighter side, the Myrtle Beach marathon has been postponed. My friends and I may run our own marathon that day anyway. Don’t cry about the rain, just grab an umbrella…
Hope all is well with you and your family,
