I first saw this quote on a handwritten note from Elliott. He must have done something bad and self-reflected. He also must have learned this from a good teacher.
What if we self-reflected on our responsibilities? Our outcomes in our own lives?
Or do you think it would be better to simply blame others for our life?
Which way is more powerful? Which way brings forth peace?
How we see the world is a reflection of our own internal framework. That framework was built by our own design, whether we were conscious of it or not.
Changing our internal framework is not easy, especially if those beliefs are buried deep down.
Dr. Dan Crosby and I talked about this in our podcast interview. He brought up the E.A.S.T. framework for driving behavioral change.
- Easy – I have my prayer and meditation books in the living room, near my favorite chair. It makes it “easy” to read daily.
- Attractive – books are daily lessons. No long chapters. Like shot glasses for the soul.
- Social – I have a weekly bible study where we talk about struggles, lessons, and how to apply the principles.
- Timely – I do my reading and meditation first thing in the morning, so nothing else can get in the way.
Jeremy, where is the political slant here???
Can you guess??
Correct, if we come from a place of peace, then we are able to navigate the chaos of the world more effectively. We are able to have more clarity.
- We are able to choose what areas to focus on.
- Choose what not to focus on (equally as important, maybe more so).
To change our worlds, we change ourselves.
I have this quote on the wall in my office:
“Yesterday, I was clever, so I wanted to change the world. Today, I am wise, so I am changing myself.”

What if the person you want doesn’t win?
What if someone recorded you after the election for a month? How much of your life would be different than today? Would your dog look at you differently? Would your kids love you any less? Would your daily routine change that much?
Do you really want to know the effects? Look back in your past.
How much has your life changed in the past from things you did not want to happen?
Despite all of that…here you are…
Remember:
“All the art of living lies in a fine mingling of letting go and holding on."

On the lighter side:

- Doug Shaw Academic Scholarships
- Food for the home and away football games for both Myrtle Beach High School football players and cheerleaders.
- Food for displaced Myrtle Beach athletes during the summer.
