Social Security & Medicare Presentation at the South Carolina CPA Fall Fest – Finger Financial Five #153

Jeremy Finger Talk

“No one is useless in this world who lightens the burdens of another.” – Charles Dickens

Last week I was honored to speak at the South Carolina CPA Fall Festival event at the Columbia Convention Center.

The topics were the lovely dynamic duo of:

  • Social Security
  • Managing Healthcare Expenses in Retirement

On Social Security, we discussed:

  • When couples should elect benefits.
  • When widows should elect benefits.
  • How to coordinate benefits with other retirement income.

On Healthcare we discussed:

  • What are the three Medicare enrollment periods.
  • What Medicare does and does not cover.
  • How to plan for uncovered healthcare expenses.

I am very thankful to be asked to speak. People did thank me for what was discussed. They said I did a great job. Have to say, I had no idea how big the event would be. Felt good to give back.

Below are some pictures:

On the lighter side, Elliott came home Tuesday afternoon! I had him beat in chess and toward the end be both missed he was in check and called it a draw. But I am sure I would have won. 😊

He continues to do well at the University of South Carolina. He got his class schedule next semester. He is taking English, Chemistry, Business Calculus, Calculus (as if one isn’t enough!), and Statistics.

Hope all is well with you and your family.
