Tariffs, Markets, and Storms – Oh My! – Finger Financial Five #208

Finger Financial Five #208

“Peace: It does not mean to be in a place where there is no noise, trouble, or hard work; it means to be in the midst of those things and still have calm in your heart.”

I woke up this morning at 3 a.m. There was a terrible storm. The thunder and wind were very loud. I did get back to sleep.

When I stepped outside, the sun was out and hardly any wind at all.

In the financial world, we hear the talking heads on TV. They tend to amplify drama because it is more exciting. Excitement is used to increase ratings, but probably does not help investor behavior.

See the chart below:

Tariffs, Markets

The AVERAGE market pullback in a year is negative 14%. Yet, the average return over time is positive 10% (Approximately).

Storms are needed: they water the grass, remove dead branches, and teach us how to be strong.

That strength is based on the faith that the sun will shine again.

We had a webinar on tariffs and market volatility. See the replay here.Tariff Policy
