Retirement and a Lesson from a Stray Dog-Finger Financial Five #193

FFF193

“Some things you just can’t outsource…and those are the things that matter most.”

My father-in-law is not a big fan of dogs. However, this one stray dog would walk up every time my father-in-law would get home from the grocery store.

The dog would just wag his tail and smile at him.

Over time, my father-in-law’s heart softened toward this stray and kind dog. He would even buy a little bread and feed him.

Every now and then, when the dog would not walk up when he got back from the store, all he had to do was whistle. The dog would come running, wagging his tail and smiling.

A few weeks ago, the dog did not show. My father-in-law whistled. No dog.

You could see anguish come over his face. A concern was building…but then the dog showed. And all was right with the world.

How does this relate to retirement? Finances?

  • Hug your spouse
  • Spend time with your children…your grandchildren.
  • Take the trip
  • Don’t wait to live your life
  • Just go LIVE IT!!!

One day, you will whistle, and the dog won’t come.

One day, you may not even be able to whistle…

On The Lighter Side

Iren FINALLY made it home. I felt my tension drop when she entered the house. I could not stop smiling…and I did not even need a piece of bread…
